High Mast Winch Systems

We design systems to make almost anything that operates at a high level more accessible for cleaning and maintenance or to enhance functionality. Such applications include high mast lighting in such areas as airfields, car parks or railway marshalling yards and high bay lights in factories, hangars or workshops where access can be difficult such as in breweries. How we do this will depend on the weight, drop and location of the item to be lifted.

Raising & Lowering Systems winching gear is incorporated into steel columns to enable lowering of the light fitting to ground level for maintenance. This can be particularly advantageous for sports area lighting where it is not possible to gain access to hydraulic platforms.

  • The winch system enables the light fitting to be lowered to ground level on a single wire rope with no trailing electrical cable.
  • Columns from 8 to 30 meters in height can be supplied.
  • The Contact Suspension Unit has internal electrical contacts and in the raised position, engages a mechanical lock.
  • In all cases self sustaining winches are fitted in the column base.
  • We can design a high mast lighting winch system so that nothing is visible once it is raised and in place.

  • Simple manual winches or electrically operated winches may be used.
  • Winches can be power-tool operated or hand cranked.
  • Control can be either wall mounted push buttons, a flying lead style plug in remote or a full radio remote system.
  • Twin or triple multi rope systems can be employed.
