Penny Nuclear Achieve Sought After 'Fit For Nuclear' Status
Penny Nuclear General Manager Simon Pykett rejoiced this week as the division was granted Fit For Nuclear status. The Fit For Nuclear programme helps companies measure their current operations against the standards required to supply the UK’s new generation of nuclear power stations.
‘It is a great honour for Penny Nuclear to be granted Fit For Nuclear status as it has been something we have been working towards for some time.’ – Simon Pykett, General Manager – Penny Nuclear
Although many companies use the Fit For Nuclear status as a way to gain access and to win tenders Penny Nuclear have found success in a different route as we have had established trade with the nuclear industry with the largest Tier 1 companies (such as Sellafield and Magnox) for some time before being granted this status. Being recognised by the Nuclear AMRC as a company worthy of being awarded Fit For Nuclear only helps to exemplify the high standard of work carried out by the Penny Nuclear team.
‘It is our hope that achieving this status will help us to win even more contracts to further help to build our business and reputation within the nuclear industry.’ – Simon Pykett, General Manager – Penny Nuclear
This is supported by a recent Fit for Nuclear impact survey which concluded that more than half of manufacturers taking part in the programme are confident of winning new nuclear work this year.
Simon also wished to mention a special thanks to the Fit For Nuclear advisor Kevin Ross who has helped us to gain this status.
