Penny Hydraulics Raise £200 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice
The Penny Hydraulics team wore their best Christmas Jumpers and had fun raising cash for the Children’s Hospice based in Sheffield.
Christmas jumper day 2019 was a huge hit! We had some very ‘interesting’ Christmas Jumpers/outfits, games to take part in and a pizza lunch that we lay on. It was brilliant to bring our team together, have some fun and most importantly raise some cash for Bluebell Wood.
The day fit in with Penny Hydraulics mission to support its local community.
“As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy to give back to the local community we jumped on the opportunity to get involved with Bluebell Wood’s Christmas Jumper Day” says Dan Casey, Marketing Manager. “The vast majority of our 90+ workforce are from Clowne and its surrounding areas. Therefore, it is vital to have resources like Bluebell Wood on our doorstep should any of our team be in the unfortunate situation where we need their valuable support!”.

About Bluebell Wood
Bluebell Wood cares for children and young adults whose lives are sadly just too short, both in their own homes and at our hospice in North Anston.
They believe that every family deserves to make magical memories with their child, whether they have years, months, weeks or days together.
Bluebell Wood is a home from home for families facing the toughest of times, with a comfy lounge and beautiful gardens. They’re always cooking up mouth-watering meals and tasty treats in the kitchen for families. There’s also plenty of fun activities for children to try, including soft play, arts and crafts, music therapy and much more.
While they’re staying with at Bluebell Wood, children have one of our eight bedrooms. If their family is staying too, then parents have their own room.
Every day, the hospice needs to raise £13,325 to keep our doors open, and only around 9% of its funding is from the government. Everything else is paid for by the wonderful work that local companies and individuals do.
Penny Hydraulics look forward to helping more invaluable local organisations like Bluebell Wood throughout 2020.
