The tyre company are a family run business with three depots, offering more than 30 years industry experience. With competitive prices and a high standard of service, the company are the go-to facility in the south west, helping customers with any car maintenance and garage service they require.
The company’s workshop manager contacted the Goods Lift division at Penny Hydraulics Ltd to specify a mezzanine floor goods Lift to help move their stock of over 4000 tyres between ground level and a mezzanine floor in their large workshop. After consulting with one of Penny Hydraulics specialist in-house goods lift engineers, a 250kg MezzLift was specified as the right product to fit the bill. Following a free of charge site survey carried out by one of Penny Hydraulics Area Sales Managers, the fully bespoke product was manufactured at Penny Hydraulics UK facility was then rapidly installed at the depot.
The MezzLift model specified was a bespoke hand-loaded goods lift. The hand-loaded model has a maximum working load of 250kg with a fixed platform size of 1000mm x 800mm. The lift mechanism allows operation up to 4 meters in height, from the ground level to the mezzanine floor. In this case however, the lift height was just under 3.5 metres. The mezzanine floor lift docks 800mm above the floor and benefits from slam shut gates, a hold to run handle at ground level and a gate at the lower level. The lift allows tyres to be quickly and safely, transported between the two floors and keep potentially dangerous and unnecessary manual handling to a minimum.
With UK design and manufacture in house at Penny Hydraulics depot in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, a range of Mezzanine floor lift options can be applied, including; bespoke platform sizes, increased height and stops, outside installation and even a choice of finishes.Where space is at a premium, such as at the tyre workshop, the compact and free standing design of the mezzanine floor lift range maximizes usable floor space in the premises.
The 250kg capacity MezzLift complies with relevant European legislation and regulations and is CE marked. The lift is built in conformance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 and The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.
The lift has now been in operation for over 3 months and the project did not end following installation of the lift, Penny Hydraulics nationwide network of our service and maintenance goods lift engineers, also carry out routine maintenance and statutory inspections in accordance with UK legislation. A Thorough Examination is currently carried out on a twelve month cycle. The depot also has the reassurance that the lift came with 12 months warranty as standard.
