Hospice Heroes Award Sponsored By Penny Hydraulics
It was with great pleasure that Penny Hydraulics sponsored the Annual Ashgate Hospice Hospice Heroes awards which were held last week. Financial Director Ashley Holmes and Marketing Manager Dan Casey attended the celebration event based at Chesterfield College and presented the empowerment award.
What are the awards?
This annual event is to give special recognition to individuals or teams across the Hospice who have made an outstanding contribution, those who really have gone above and beyond and those who have excelled in terms of performance; quite simply, those who are truly super! It’s also a way for us to share more widely some of the truly impressive and often humbling work that goes on at the Hospice, in our shops and in the community.
The Empowering Award which Penny Hydraulics sponsored was designed for people who enable positive change and support others to reach their maximum potential.
Why Did Penny Hydraulics Sponsor the Awards?
Ashgate Hospice is an invaluable resource in the Chesterfield and North Derbyshire region. Their services range from social work, physiotherapy and an actual hospice for adults with a life-limiting condition. Being one of the biggest employers of local people in Clowne, North Derbyshire many of our colleagues have been in contact with Ashgate Hospice in some way.
We wanted to give back such an important resource and recognise just some of the work that the team at Ashgate Hospice do.
Watch the video below to see Ashley and Dan explain this further.
Who Won the Award?
The nominees were:

- Diana Gibson & Jill Davies - End of Life Care Facilitators
All were very worthy nominees but there had to be a winner and the empowerment award winner was……………… Leigh Allwood. You can watch why she won the award on the Ashgate Hospice Facebook Page or by clicking here!
