A Lift for UK Manufacturing: Penny Hydraulics Open New £2M Facility

"We don't make anything in England anymore." We beg to differ!

Did you catch Top Gear's goosebump triggering 'Best of British' episode? Well, although we can't compete with BBC budgets - if you're passionate about UK manufacturing, we can offer you a great watch that's guaranteed to warm the cockles!

From humble beginnings in 1978 and following an exciting journey of diversification, product development, investment, acquisitions and expansion, Penny Hydraulics celebrated its 40th anniversary this year.

How did we celebrate? With a good old knees up of course! The event offered the perfect opportunity for us to officially open our new £2M manufacturing facility the 'Southgate Building' (built on the original site of Southgate Colliery) and we were honoured that long-standing friend and supporter of Penny Hydraulics Ltd, Sir David Walker returned to our headquarters to conduct the official opening ceremony.

Penny Hydraulics - doing our part to lift UK manufacturing.

Here, Penny family member Jess Penny chats to Sir David Walker about his thoughts on UK manufacturing, family business and how to thrive in a complex financial climate.
