DRS Data Choose Penny Hydraulics Mezz Light
DRS Data are specialists in examination and assessment processing and electronic marking, DRS also provides solutions for elections and censuses. They are based in Milton Keynes.
DRS Data required a goods lift at their warehouse facility to trasport their equipment between the ground level in the warehouse and the mezzanine floor which was used as a useful storage area. DRS Data wanted to increase productivity and also eliminate any unecessary manual handling for their staff and rule out any potential accidents that may occur as a result of personnel manually carrying the goods up and down stairs.
Following a free of charge, no obligation site visit, the Penny Hydraulics specilaist Goods Lift design engineers specified a MezzLight mezzanine floor lift with a working capacity of 250kg. The goods lift was CE marked and designed and manufactured in conformance with the Machinery Directive, Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations and the Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations.
The MezzLight was a stanadrd brochure product with a few bespoke adjustments, including a bespoke platform size of 1000mm x 1000mm. The lift had an overall height of 2915mm and was designed with 2000mm high double gates. The lift was designed with electrical interlocks for safety purposes and a fixed ramp for easy loading of the goods on and off the MezzLift. Control was specified via dual push buttons. The goods lift was floor mounted so no lift pit was required and was also self-supporting meaning no structural changes to the building were required.
The goods lift was manufactured within a 4 week lead time at Penny Hydraulics premises in the UK and installed by their specialist team of Goods Lift installation engineers in a matter of days. The mezzanine floor lift installation has been a great success in that it is not only allowing the staff at DRS data to handle their goods in a more productive manner, it is also giving the business owners peace of mind that they are fulfilling their duty of care to their employees by eliminating any unsafe and unecessary manual handling within the warehouse.
