3 Tier Mezz Pro for Eyres of Worksop
Richard Shuker from the Eyres Worksop contacted Penny Hydraulics in 2014 as they were expanding and required a goods lift to lift and lower large trolleys carrying furniture between ground level in their new warehouse and two mezzanine floors that they were having installed to help them maximise available storage space.
The furniture trolleys were large in size and weighed up to 500kg. Following a free of charge and no obligation site survey, the Penny Hydraulics Goods Lift team specified a MezzPro MezzLift to operate between the three floors. The goods lift was specified with a maximum working load of 500kg. The mezzanine floor goods lift was enclosed in a self-supporting mesh shaft. The goods lift platform was a bespoke size to suit the trolleys at 2500mm x 1500mm and guarded 900mm high on the non-loading edges. The overall floor to floor height was large at 2750mm.
At the entrance to the lift at all three levels, 2300mm high gates were specified fitted with electrical interlocks to prevent the gates being opened unless the platform is docked at the appropriate level and prevent the lift being operated unless all gates are closed. At the lower level a 500mm long fixed ramp was provided to assist loading on to the 50mm deep platform.
A 2.2kw, 415 volt, three-phase and neutral supply was required terminated in an isolator at the lower level. Control was specified via a hold to run, push button control station adjacent to the gates at each level.
The 3 tier mezz floor goods liftwas manufactured at Penny Hydraulics factory near Chesterfield within a 4 week lead time and was CE marked. Penny Hydraulics own nationwide team of service and installation engineers carried out the rapid installation and also took care of statutory inspections (LOLER tests) on the goods lift and on-site training.
