Manual handling of casks, kegs, crates, equipment and other items is probably the biggest cause of occupational ill-health and related reportable injuries in the brewing and licensed trades. The industry’s performance is improving but around one third of reportable injuries are still caused by manual handling. Penny Hydraulics offers a comprehensive range of lifting equipment that helps the brewing and licensed trades to reduce manual handling, comply with regulations and reduce the risk of personal injuries. These are extensively used by pubs, clubs, breweries, hotels and restaurants to handle a wide range of items safely and efficiently.
The Penny Hydraulics Cellar Lift is designed for lifting, hoisting or raising beer barrels, kegs, crates and other drink or food related items between two floors including cellars, basements, ground level, first floor and upper levels. Penny Hydraulics developed the concept in the 1980s and has installed over 6000 units throughout the UK. A choice of vertical and sloping versions means that the Cellar Lift can be installed in virtually any location. The Penny Hydraulics Bay Lift is ideal for handling loads between two levels when the difference in height is less than one metre, for example at loading bays in breweries and retail locations. The Penny Hydraulics Brewery Crane, based on the popular Swing Lift crane, is designed for handling barrels, kegs and other items on and off delivery vehicles
