Installation & testing of lifting equipment
Choosing an installer
It would be expected that an installer would have access to the chassis manufacturers’ Body Builder Guide Lines and installation instructions from the crane manufacturer.
The installer would be expected to work within a quality procedure, use coded welders and traceable materials. The finished Loader Crane Installation must be subject to a thorough examination and test for which calibration weights are required, a test area and a ‘competent person’ to conduct the examination and test. The competent person may be an in-house employee or an experienced employee of a loader crane supplier; or an insurance company inspection engineer etc., but in all cases should be sufficiently impartial to allow objective decisions to be made.
An incorrectly mounted loader crane is not only unsafe but can also renderthe vehicle unsafe. Life expectancy of the crane can be greatly reduced if incorrectly calibrated.
Penny Hydraulics enjoys ownership of purpose built premises housing all functions of a fully integrated company. The factory has designated fitting areas with qualified, experienced fitters waiting to install your equipment to the highest standard. When fitting a mounting frame to a vehicle, weight is a premium and so our AutoCad package allows us to tailor-build where applicable and ensure that material weight is kept to a minimum, whilst ensuring the strength and stability of the lorry loader is maintained.
Penny Hydraulics also offers nationwide on-site installation. As well as a fleet of service vans, our experienced fitting engineers are fully trained to install equipment on your site within the UK.
